The 1700 improves the ergonomics of RF terminals establishing a new standard of user comfort and convenience for industrial terminals.
It will withstand repeated 5-foot drops onto concrete. It is compatible with the 1100 and 5900 Family of Mobile Mount Terminals, as well as the RT3210 Radio Data Terminals. The 1700 is the most rugged hand-held on the market.
The 1700's modularity offers tremendous flexibility as needs change. Start with batch data collection and upgrade to RF with UHF or SST. Add CCD or laser scanning.
A vehicle mount further enhances flexibility. Advanced battery technology and battery management enable operating times up to 16 hours with NiMH batteries (at 8 scans per minute) or 12 hours with NiCd batteries. The 1700 offers four ways to trigger the scanning module. The 1700 provides "plug and play" terminal emulation for 3270, 5250, VT220, 7527, and NORAND Native Mode. It integrates with networks operating SNA, Async, TCP/IP and DECnet protocols. It frees you to work directly with host data from remote areas of your facility. Peripheral support for RS-232 and multi-drop RS485 interface devices enable the 1700 to be connected to serial printers, as well as input devices, such as RF/ID tag readers and scales.
